Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Arrives August 7

The unveiling date has been set for Samsung’s upcoming Note 10 device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Samsung intends to announce the device on August 7 at 4PM Eastern in Brooklyn, NY. 

The invite, which teases new camera capabilities, shows the S Pen circling around a camera sensor and the link to the UNPACKED invite says that the launch will "take the Galaxy's connected ecosystem to the next level".

Samsung's Galaxy Buds Coming March 8th For $129

Samsung is no stranger to true wireless earbuds, but its first pair had horrible battery life. The second gen Samsung Gear IconX did better but the price tag was high at $200. Now, the Samsung Galaxy Buds are launching alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 with a reasonable price, even better than the Apple Airpods. The Samsung Galaxy Buds are coming March 8th for $129.

Samsung Rolls Out Bixby Voice Preview, For Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+

Droid Life posted earlier today the Bixby Voice preview was live to those who had signed up for the Early Access Program last week.

Sure enough, Bixby Voice Preview appeared in the settings after updating a few apps through the Galaxy Apps Store, as Droid Life originally reported. I went through the setup process and all seems to be working well after setting up Bixby Voice wake-up.

Samsung Teases Batman Edition Galaxy S7 Edge (Updated With Official Unboxing Video)

Samsung took to Twitter to officially tease a new variant of the Galaxy S7 edge. 

This time with a Batman theme... There’s a “Coming Soon” over the silhouette of the new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge along with the Batman symbol. 

The tweet reads “Coming soon: A new device for the battle against the Gods Among Us,” including several different Twitter accounts such as @InjusticeGame, @WB_Games, and @DCComics.

Updated: With official unboxing video, the device is said to be called the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition and comes with a special edition Gear VR headset. See the attached video below...

Samsung Sends Invites To August 13th Galaxy Press Event

Today Samsung sent invites to a press event taking place August 13th in New York City. At the event, it is rumored we will see the unveil of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Sprint Galaxy S4 KitKat Source Code Released

Samsung has released the source code for the Sprint Galaxy S4′s KitKat update. An update’s source code usually isn’t released until after the update has begun rolling out, but Samsung decided to release the source code first. This means that the final build cant be far behind.

The update should start going out at any time, but until it does we're sure developers will do their magic. When the update does begin pushing, as of now Sprint will be the first in the United States. There is no official word so far from Samsung or Sprint on the matter.

Samsung Announces February 24 For “Galaxy S5" Unpacked 5 Event

+Samsung sent us an invitation to their next big event, titled “Unpacked 5”. This event is set to takes place on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain, the same week of Mobile World Congress. While nothing is confirmed, however speculation is around the unveiling of the Galaxy S5. Hints the “5" next to “Unpacked”.

Samsung has also said a live stream of the event will be on Samsung’s +YouTube channel. Let the Unpacking begin February 24 at 2PM Eastern, 11AM Pacific.

Samsung Unveils The Galaxy Note 3 And Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

Samsung has announced a redesigned Galaxy Note 3 with a slimmer design and larger screen. Though the phone's front looks similar to its predecessors, Samsung has made some tweaks to the design, covering the plastic back with an apparent faux-leather finish in three colors, adding a metallic sheen to the plastic sides, and redesigning the S Pen. The screen has grown to 5.7 inches from the Note II's 5.3, and it weighs in at a slightly lighter 168g. It's 8.3mm, about a millimeter thinner than its predecessor, with 3GB of RAM, a 2.3GHz quad-core processor on its LTE model another 3G version will use a 1.9GHz octocore processor and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Samsung has even promised that the phone can shoot 4K video.

Samsung also touts new software and better multitasking, one of the Note's major selling points given its large form factor. A launcher called Air Command is designed to make the S Pen more useful, bringing up a menu of tools that let users organize and act on handwritten notes: one given example is jotting down a number, then using new software to save it in the address book or call it directly.

While we don't have pricing details, the Note is set to launch on September 25th in 149 countries, then worldwide by October. In the US, versions will come to all major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular are all listed as partners.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 Note 10.1 carries Samsung's 8-core Octa chipset clocked at 1.9GHz with a class-leading 3GB of RAM. In terms of appearance, the new Note 10.1 features the same faux-leather rear casing as its smaller Note III sibling. An 8-megapixel camera can be found on the tablet's backside, with your standard 2-megapixel affair up front. The Note 10.1 2014 edition will be offered in three capacities with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of storage.

Samsung Announces Galaxy Gear Smartwatch

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, the “next evolution” of Galaxy. The device has an on board 1.9 megapixel camera that can take pictures and video memos, a pedometer feature, and security measures that allow you to require the Gear to be nearby when you want to unlock your Samsung phone. More highlights:

• 4GB storage
• 512MB RAM
• Uses Bluetooth 4.0

The Galaxy Gear will launch globally September 25th for $299.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Live Photos Leak

The Samsung Galaxy Gear unit found itself in the hands of Venturebeat who got to spend some time with the smartwatch and spilled some beans about it along the way.

What you see above is a snapshot of a Galaxy Gear promo video, as the media wasn't allowed to take photos of the actual prototype it had. Anyway, the display of the Galaxy Gear is 3" in size and is of the OLED variety. The screen is square, but sadly its resolution wasn't disclosed.

The prototype Galaxy Gear itself is colored in dark gray and black and sports built-in speakers in the strap. Naturally, there'll be more colors on the way, but they weren't detailed. On the top side, there's also a 4MP camera, which is used to record health data as well as taking pictures. There's a special piece of software which recognizes if the food is fat or contains grains.

The Samsung Galaxy Gear is going to be able to receive voice commands through the S Voice app. Thanks to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the smartwatch is able to connect to other smartphones, too. This allows it to sync call logs giving you the option to initiate a call from the watch to a Samsung smartphone. Wi-Fi connectivity also means social media integration with Twitter and Facebook.

Venturebeat reports the Galaxy Gear's battery is going to be good for up to 10 hours. The battery capacity wasn't disclosed, but from the photos you can clearly see that the Gear is going to be quite big.

Samsung’s ‘Galaxy Gear’ Smartwatch Companion App Leaked

Samsung’s Lee Young-hee confirmed that the device would make its first official appearance at the company’s event scheduled for Sept. 4 in Berlin. Today, Evleaks points us to the screenshots above showing what appears to be the device’s companion app that will likely be available for all Android devices, although there is still the possibility it will only support Samsung’s own Android devices.

The screenshots above confirm the device will pair with Bluetooth, and there is also a section within the app to manage “Samsung Apps.” Another feature called “Find my watch” sounds a lot like a feature for locating a missing Galaxy Gear and Samsung also references wireless charging: “turn on NFC in Settings and bring the mobile device and charger together, back to back.

Samsung Exec Confirms September 4th Unveiling Of Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Note III

Samsung has confirmed plans to unveil its next-generation Galaxy Note III phablet and the brand new Galaxy Gear smartwatch on September 4th. Speaking with Korea Times, Samsung marketing boss Lee Young-hee confirmed numerous earlier reports stating that both new devices would debut at Samsung’s IFA press conference next week. Interestingly, however, Lee referred to the smartwatch as a “concept device,” suggesting that it might not be ready for launch.

“We will be introducing a new wearable concept device called Galaxy Gear at our own event in Berlin on Sept. 4,” Lee told Korea Times. “The Gear won’t have a flexible display. The new device will enhance and enrich the current smart mobile experience in many ways. It will lead a new trend in smart mobile communications. We are confident that the Gear will add meaningful momentum to the mobile industry.”

Earlier reports stated that the Galaxy Gear will become available sometime in October, so this could simply be a matter of things getting lost in translation.

As for the Galaxy Note III, the device is expected to launch soon after being unveiled and will likely feature a 5.7-inch display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor or an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa chipset depending on region, 3GB of RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Samsung Officially Announces The Galaxy S4 Zoom Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom a compact camera on the front, an Android handset on the back, the Zoom has a flash, of course, but it has a sensitive 16MP sensor that ranges up to 3200 ISO, meaning that mostly you shouldn't need it. Second, zoom. Smartphone cameras rely on ‘digital zoom’, aka in-camera cropping. You’re not really zooming at all, you’re just discarding the edges of the photo and enlarging the bit in the middle. The Zoom, in contrast, has a genuine optical zoom lens, offering the 35mm equivalent of 24-240mm, making it suitable for everything from wide-angle landscape shots to tight framing on something like a bird in a tree.

The Zoom doesn't require you to sacrifice much on the smartphone side of the equation either it weights in with a 4.3 inch touchscreen, a 1.5GHz processor, 8GB built-in storage, 64GB SD card capacity, LTE and it runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Leaked

Samsung’s June 20th event is fast approaching and we have a pretty good idea on what the Korean manufacturer plans to unveil. One of the rumored devices is a Samsung Galaxy Zoom part Galaxy Camera, and part Galaxy smartphone. The fellas at SamMobile were able to nab an exclusive press shot of the device and in the process, revealed its true name: Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.

The device looks to bring everything you love about a fully functional Galaxy smartphone, only we’re not so sure if the Zoom is worthy of the S4 name. More like a Galaxy Camera Mini, the Galaxy S4 Zoom features a 4.3 inch qHD display, 1.6GHz (unspecified) processor, 8GB of internal storage with micro SD card slot up to 64GB, and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. 

Not bad specs especially for a camera but not exactly what we were expecting.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit is now available directly through Samsung’s accessory store, be prepared to shell out $90. The Samsung Galaxy S4 needs both a charging cover and the charging pad. The back cover runs $39.99, while the pad will cost $49.99. If there is one added bonus to the charging pad, it’s the fact that it should work with all Qi-certified wireless charging products.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 And 10.1 Gets Official

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 inch, has a 1.6GHz dual-core chipset, that same 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage with microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3G and LTE support, a 3 megapixel rear camera, a 1.3 megapixel front camera and software experience will be Android 4.2.2 with Samsung’s Touchwiz customization.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 version, you can expect a screen resolution of 1,280 x 800, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB variants with microSD card slot, WiFi-only or data (with LTE) variants, 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 4,450 mAh battery. It’ll also launch with Android 4.2.2 and Samsung’s Touchwiz customization.

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Support Verizon's Upcoming LTE Expansion

The Samsung's Galaxy S4 will be able to support AWS on Verizon when it launches later this year. The phone will require a software update to activate support for the spectrum, which is being used to increase LTE coverage and speed in different areas. Verizon announced that devices with AWS support would ship by July likely before the network itself launches and it's certainly met that deadline.

However, Verizon has taken its time in rolling out the new spectrum. While the company has continued to purchase licenses, it only recently announced that it intends to have some of the AWS spectrum up and running by the end of this year. According to Bloomberg, that launch will begin in major cities, including New York, where network congestion has become a problem as more consumers adopt LTE.

Samsung Hosting Galaxy And ATIV Brand Focused Event On June 20

Samsung today announced that it's got a "Premiere 2013" event planned for June 20, less than a week after Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference wraps up. The gathering, which is taking place in London and will kick off at 19:00 BST (1:00 p.m. EST), will be focused on Samsung's Galaxy and ATIV brands.

Samsung Officially Announces The 7 Inch Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung has finally made things official for the Galaxy Tab 3 today, announcing in a press release on its website that the 7-inch tablet will become available globally starting next month. Samsung didn’t confirm pricing on the new tab, but did reveal specs including a 1.2GHz dual for process, 7 inch WSVGA (1024 x 600, 169 PPI) TFT display, 1GB of RAM, and 8 and 16GB variants expandable to 64GB via microSD.

The new Galaxy Tab 3 will be running Android 4.1 out of the box, but Samsung will only be shipping the Wi-Fi version of the device when it begins selling next month.

Other specs include a 4,000 mAh Li-ion battery, 3-megapixel main camera, 1.3 -megapixel front facing cam, A-GPS ＋ GLONASS, WiFi Direct, and Bluetooth 3.0. Rather underwhelming specs, so we assume pricing will be on the low end of things when Samsung finally decides to fill us in.

As for those waiting out for a WiFi + 3G variant, the company currently plans on beginning sales of that model in June with rollouts happening gradually and availability varying by market.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Hits The US This Week For $399

Last month Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Note 8.0 at Mobile World Congress, and today they revealed pricing and availability for the US. The Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-Fi will hit retail stores on April 11 and sell for a suggested price of $399. Customers who wish to pick up the device can find it at Amazon, Best Buy/Best Buy Mobile, H.H. Gregg, Newegg, P.C. Richard & Son, Staples and TigerDirect.com.

Highlights of the device include an 8.0 inch HD display (1280 x 800, 189ppi), 1.6GHz Quad Core processor and 2GB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera on the back can shoot 1080p video, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera can handle video chats at 720p resolution, 16 GB internal storage with a microSD slot for expansion, built-in IR blaster, and a large 4,600 mAh battery.

“The Galaxy Note defined an entirely new smartphone category and the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet redefined the tablet experience for consumers,” said Travis Merrill, vice president of Samsung Electronics America, Inc. “With the Galaxy Note 8.0, we fully expect to ignite the mid-size tablet market Samsung pioneered with the first Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and packs the power needed for full mobile entertainment and productivity.”
