Google Confirms Android SDK For Wearables, In The Coming Weeks

Today during the SXSW Interactive event, Google’s Android and Chrome chief Sundar Pichai apparently announced that a new Android SDK for developers interested in developing wearables will arrive in the next two weeks. Google isn’t announcing any specific products, Pichai made it clear that Google will be approaching Android on smart watches and wearables much like on smartphones. 

With the new SDK, Sundar said the company plans to “lay out a vision for developers as to how we’ll see this market working.” Pichai also hinted that the new Android SDK for wearables will incorporate wearables beyond simply smartwatches.

Chromecast SDK Released, Open To Developers

Google has released their long awaited +Chromecast SDK to developers, giving developers the power to build a cast ability into their apps. Until now, select partners have been able to build in Chromecast support, but this now means almost any app Android, iOS, and web could enable a cast button and bring casting abilities from phone/tablet/computer to your big screen.

Pebble Appstore To Debut Monday February 3rd

+Pebble  will launch its appstore on Monday February 3rd, the smartwatch company has announced. The download store, will go live at 10AM PT and give Pebble's growing developer community a centralized place to offer their apps and their custom watchfaces.

Third party software for Pebble has taken off since the +Kickstarter success released its SDK last year, until now distribution has been less organized. Developers have offered direct downloads but there has been a specific way to browse and install apps from Pebble itself.

The Pebble appstore will be available for both Pebble Steel and original Pebble owners, though the company will be launching the iOS version first. The Android version will come "very, very soon" Pebble spokesperson Myriam Joire has said and developers will have an APK available on Monday so that they can get up to speed.

Windows Phone SDK 7.1.1 Update Now Available



The Windows Phone SDK 7.1.1 Update provides developers with additional capabilities to develop and test applications for Windows Phone 7.5 Devices with 256MB. And also will allow developers to code Windows Phone applications from PCs running Windows 8. The tools are on Microsoft's Windows Phone web site.
