How To Manually Update Your Nexus S 4G To Ice Cream Sandwich

So you've got the Sprint Nexus S 4G, and you're well aware that the official Ice Cream Sandwich update is coming. But what if you don't want to wait? The crazy cats in our Nexus S 4G forums have the manual download and install method, and it goes a little something like this:

1. Download this file from here http://android.clients.google.com/pa...g/TAMkDR3z.zip (Thanks to LateNiteWithJme at Android Central!)
2. Rename it to update.zip (Windows users careful not to get a double ".zip" extension) and place it on your mount the device, place the .zip file on your Nexus S 4G.
3. Shut down phone
4. Boot into bootloader (Volume Up+Power) then from bootloader screen choose RECOVERY (Navigate Vol Up/Down and select with Power).
5. From stock recovery choose to install update.zip
6. Sit back and relax for a few and you should boot into official Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 !

Android 4.0.4 For Sprint Nexus S 4G Leaked

The Nexus brand has taken quite a bit of a hit over the recent few weeks, with Google failing to provide what we have all considered the defining feature for the handsets (quick and timely updates).

It’s disheartening to see that only a subset of the Nexus S users are on ICS, but we’ve finally got some good news, BriefMobile has managed to get their hands on all the files for an upcoming 4.0.4 OTA. Head over to their website to get all the files and instructions.

Nexus S 4G Ice Cream Sandwich Update Starts Feb 16th

After much debate of which device would be Sprint’s first smartphone to carry Android 4.0, it appears the burning question has been answered. Our pals over at AndroidPolice have gotten hold of an internal screenshot which pegs the highly anticipated Nexus S 4G Ice Cream Sandwich update for a February 16th release. Like most software updates, this will most likely hit over a matter of days.
