Android Q Beta 4, Rolling Out To Google Pixel Devices

Android Q is the latest Android OS version by Google. With some advanced features and latest tech device compatibility. Google released the fourth beta version of the Android Q today.

You can download and run Android Q on all Google Pixel devices, to get Android Q on your Google Pixel device, you need to be a part of the Google Android Beta program.

What's new in Android Q:

Privacy: Google introduced new privacy and security policy with Android Q to enhance privacy for OS controls, file based encryption, Google Play Protect, and more. With Android, Q Google has also provided options to control an apps' access to photos, videos or audio collections via new runtime permissions feature. Also, apps that access downloaded files on your device have to now go through the system file picker. Android Q has a unique real time running feature which will prevent any background app from launching an activity unless it is essential, such as alarms or an incoming call.


Control over location: Android Q will give you more control over the location sharing. With Android Q, the user will have the option to provide app permission to use location all the time, only when the app is in use, or never. This is an extraordinary feature I found which will help your phone to save better and internet data.

Device location access and foldable screen support : With new folding smartphones support one can let two apps work simultaneously, and to notify the app when it has focus. Apart from that, Google will also give you to decide how your app is shown on foldable screens. We should hear more on that in the upcoming betas.

Sharing shortcuts: Android Q with a new shortcut feature in Android Q user can jump directly into another app for sharing content using a feature called Sharing Shortcuts. Also, the next Android version will include a new settings panel which will let you see key system settings such as Wi-Fi connection, network, and aeroplane mode on third party apps via a floating window.

Dynamic Depth Image: With new Android Q image feature, apps can request a 'dynamic Depth Image' which allows you to use specialized blurs and bokeh options as well as enjoy 3D images and support for AR photography.

Google’s Project Soli Chip Could Debut In Google Pixel 4

Project Soli is a Google ATAP endeavor based on radar hardware most notably for device control via subtle hand movements. Whether you’re using a watch, phone, or tablet this miniature radar sensor can differentiate between very fine motions to perform various platform specific functions.

Google showed off Project Soli working on both a smartwatch and a smart speaker at Google I/O 2016. The demo showed the chip embedded in a Wear OS smartwatch for interface control and the smart speaker integration made it possible to simply wave at the speaker to tell it to stop playing.

Google is rumored to be launching a new generation of the Google Home this year, as well as a smartwatch and gesture based control via Soli. Some details from XDA corroborate that the Google Pixel 4 will have a Soli chip, and suggest that the feature will be called “Aware” for users.

Google Pixel Slate Stops By The FCC, Imminent Release

Google's recently unveiled the Google Pixel Slate tablet at Google I/O,  and has now been spotted at recent FCC filings, filed by Google hardware partner Quanta Computer Inc.

The information contained within the filing indicated hardware and features including, Intel Celeron Kaby Lake processor and memory set at either 4GB or 8GB up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 SoC with 16GB of RAM. 

Storage, will scale between 32GB and 256GB backed by a 48Wh 12 hour rated battery under a 2.5D glass panel, 12.3 inch screen resolution set at 3,000 x 2,000 pixels. Packed into an all metal midnight blue body measuring 290.85 x 202.04 x 7.0 mm and weighing just 1.6lbs, with a front and rear facing 8 megapixel camera. 

The metal body houses dual USB Type C charging and video output ports, fingerprint scanner, with wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac protocols and Bluetooth 4.2, with prices starting at $599.

Leaked Google Pixel 3 XL, USB C Pixel Buds Included

Google is set to announce the upcoming Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL in the coming months, today we got a major leak. The leak shows the phone, retail box, Pixel Buds like USB-C headphones, and charger.

The leak comes from a Russian Telegram channel, the photo shows the white variant of the Google Pixel 3 XL. Compared to the first two Pixel devices, the separation of the glass on the phone’s rear is almost invisible. Google's single camera lens is still a go, just like the existing Google Pixel and Google Pixel 2 devices including the fingerprint reader and Google logo at the bottom.

The leaked photos and video shows the phone fully booted with a shot of the settings revealing the “Google Pixel 3 XL” model name and even the device’s serial number (not a good move leaker... lol). The “Hardware version” in settings is listed as “DVT1.0.” which stands for Design Validation Test and is usually a revision prior to final production.

The leaked device looks to be running Android 9 Pie, the device has successfully gone through the initial Pixel Setup process. Gesture navigation is on, and said to be enabled by default on the Google Pixel 3 devices. A hardware specifications app confirms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 1440 x 2960 display with a 494 PPI. The SIM card slot is located at the bottom left of the phone next to the USB-C port. Including in the box are Pixel Bud style headphones with the same rounded bud design and adjustable ear inserts as the current Google Pixel Buds, and have ditched Bluetooth in favor of a USB-C port.

Google Pixel 3 XL Leaked In Clearly White

The photos come courtesy of XDA Forums member dr.guru who claims that the prototype doesn't boot because it's been remotely wiped by Google. The leaked photo's of the fastboot screen shows that there's "no valid slot to boot." you can also see the phone's nickname is crosshatch, and that it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.



The logo on the back is used by Google for engineering units with the barcodes and identifying stickers. The back of the phone is rumored to be all glass with top part glossy and bottom part matte, a single part of glass. The notch looks to house the dual front facing cameras.

Google Rumored To Announce Pixel Branded Wear OS Watch

Famous leaker Evan Blass is reporting that Google will continue with the tradition of releasing the Google Pixel 3 in two sizes, regular and XL. This year Google will also bring a second generation Pixel Buds, and Google may also release its own Pixel branded Wear OS watch.

Is This Google’s 2nd Generation Pixel XL, Made By LG

According to Android Police the above image is said to be that of the 2nd generation Google Pixel XL, that is codenamed “taimen” made by LG.

As you can see from the design, this looks a lot like the phone that an XDA member leaked a couple of weeks ago.

According to Android Police's sources, this is the phone that LG has made for Google in place of the HTC made “muskie” that was once thought to be the new Google Pixel XL. It rumored to have a 6 inch LG made AMOLED display with a 2:1 ratio. 

It is also rumored that the new LG made Google Pixel XL phone will sport squeezable sides, just like we've seen on the HTC U11 which will allow you to interact with the phone.

Google Releases Teaser For October 4th Pixel Event

Google has finally confirmed it will be unveiling its new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones at a media event scheduled for October 4th.

Google has also created a new “madeby.google.com” web page which shows the same animation as the video but with some amazing photos, suggesting that the search giant plans to market the new smartphones as “made by Google” although reports claim they will be manufactured by HTC.

Google just published a video to confirm the date Oct. 4th, as you can see in the video below, the search bar slowly turns into a silhouette of a phone with Oct. 4th, and the Google "G" logo on the opposite side.
