Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Now Official, With 10.5 Inch Display

Samsung has officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 along with slimmer bezels, audio tuned by AKG including four speakers, and sports a 10.5 inches sAMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560×1600.

Meanwhile, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and either 64GB or 256GB of built in storage. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and an 8MP camera on the front. Samsung has opted to remove the physical home buttons on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 in lieu of on screen home and navigation buttons, making the iris scanner and facial scanning the go to biometric security and authentication method.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has the standard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 on board, battery measureing in at 7300mAh with support for Fast Charging. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. As with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung is including the S Pen at no additional cost.

Samsung says that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has DeX support built right into the software, and the tablet can support having up to 20 different windows open at the same time.



The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will have an LTE model with support from Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and Sprint. The retail price is $650 for the 64GB model, or $750 for the 256GB variant. Color schemes are glossy black or white. Samsung stated pre orders beginning today, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will start shipping on August 10.

HP Announces SlateBook x2 Android Tablet

HP is announcing SlateBook x2 today. We're basically looking at a standard 10-inch Android tablet, but in the configuration of what HP is calling a "two-in-one device" that has a keyboard dock. As is usually the case, the tablet is completely contained as a stand-alone device, with a 1920x1200 IPS display, Tegra 4 processor and 64GB of storage. The SlateBook x2 is also shipping with Android 4.2.2, and what looks like very limited customizations from HP -- it even goes so far as to say this is "HP’s push to offer access to the Google experience". The docking station has a full keyboard and trackpad, along with a USB port, SDcard slot and an additional battery to charge the tablet.

Based on the information given to us right now the HP SlateBook x2 is expected to ship in August in both grey and white lid colors, and the pricing seems quite nice at $479.99. However this is a "starting price", and it isn't clear whether or not that includes the keyboard dock. The tablet market may be a bit different by the time this device hits store shelves, but it certainly seems like it will have a better shot at grabbing sales than the Slate 7 does.

Samsung Extends Free Galaxy S3 And Note 2 Flip Covers Promo

A few weeks ago, we told you guys about a Samsung promotion of sorts taking place on the manufacturer’s US Facebook page. They promo had customers with either the Samsung Galaxy S3 or Samsung Galaxy Note 2 register their devices with Samsung in exchange for a special care package. Inside, Samsung packed a free Flip Cover (a $40 value) in the color of your choice, as well as a handful of TecTiles to place about the home, office, or car. The promotion didn't last long, and many were left high and dry once word spread throughout the Internets.

For those of you that did go through the trouble of registering, but weren’t quick enough to nab your free goodies, you might want to check your email inbox (or spam box). Looks like Good Guy Samsung is honoring their promotion yet again with a 2nd wave of care packages being sent out to already registered users. While we’re not sure if registering now will do you any good, it certainly can’t hurt, can it? 

For those that nabbed the deal the first time around, you should check your mail as we’ve been getting numerous reports of the first round of Flip Cover and TecTiles already landing on doorsteps.

Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 OTA Package Now Available (Unofficial)

Android Central member seanmacanally got an OTA notification on his rooted Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and with a little help from the great crew in the forums got the package pulled and uploaded for everyone to play with.  A few caveats:

• This is only for the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus
• It's Android 4.0.4 IMM30B
• You will need to be completely stock with stock recovery to install it as-is

This doesn't seem to be an OTA that's going out in full force, so it very well could be some sort of internal testing version.  Keep that in mind if you flash it -- things may not be working as well as you would hope.
