Samsung Teases Batman Edition Galaxy S7 Edge (Updated With Official Unboxing Video)

Samsung took to Twitter to officially tease a new variant of the Galaxy S7 edge. 

This time with a Batman theme... There’s a “Coming Soon” over the silhouette of the new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge along with the Batman symbol. 

The tweet reads “Coming soon: A new device for the battle against the Gods Among Us,” including several different Twitter accounts such as @InjusticeGame, @WB_Games, and @DCComics.

Updated: With official unboxing video, the device is said to be called the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition and comes with a special edition Gear VR headset. See the attached video below...

Leaked Images Show Lenovo’s MotoMods For The Unannounced Moto Z

Lenovo is expected to unveil the new Moto Z and lower end Moto Z Style at Tech World on June 9th. The higher end model is said to include a quad HD 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 820 chip with 3/4GB of RAM. While the Style variant is said to sport a full HD 5.5-inch display and Snapdragon 625 chip.

The MotoMods in the above image from left to right (as revealed by @evleaks) are rumored to be the Pico Projector, JBL Speakers, Hasselblad camera attachment. The Hasselblad Camera attachment appears to cover the built in Moto Z camera replacing it with the optical zoom equipped lens feature.

Western Digital Finalizes $16B SanDisk Acquisition

Western Digital has officially completed its purchase of SanDisk. The deal was originally announced in late 2015, carrying a total value of about $19 billion. According to a report from The Verge, however, that amount was lowered to $16 billion after Chinese firm Unisplendour backed out on its plans to purchase a 15% stake in Western Digital.

IRVINE, Calif. — May 12, 2016 — Western Digital® Corporation (NASDAQ: WDC) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Western Digital Technologies, Inc. has completed the acquisition of SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK). The addition of SanDisk makes Western Digital Corporation a comprehensive storage solutions provider with global reach, and an extensive product and technology platform that includes deep expertise in both rotating magnetic storage and non-volatile memory (NVM). 

The Company also indicated that the debt financing associated with this transaction has been consummated and that the previously obtained funds from this financing have been released from escrow to Western Digital Technologies, Inc.

The integration process will begin immediately through the joint efforts of teams from both companies. As previously announced, Steve Milligan will continue to serve as chief executive officer of Western Digital, which will remain headquartered in Irvine, California. Sanjay Mehrotra, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of SanDisk, will serve as a member of the Western Digital Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Under the terms of the transaction, each outstanding share of SanDisk common stock was converted into the right to receive $67.50 per share in cash and 0.2387 shares of Western Digital common stock.

Niantic Labs And The Pokémon Company Have Opened Field Testing For Pokémon Go

Niantic Labs and The Pokémon Company have opened up field test for Pokémon Go to the United States.

The sign up form asks users to enter a Google Account email and the mobile OS they are using. Ingress players have the ability to enter their Agent Name and Level. Signing up does not guarantee entrance into the field test and there is a long list of warnings to note. Players also have to agree to a confidentiality agreement.

Field testing is open to the United States, Australia, or New Zealand and requires an Android device running 4.3 or higher or an iPhone 5 with iOS 8 or above.

Android N Developer Preview Available For Non Nexus Devices

Android users have come to expect Developer Previews are pretty much exclusive to Nexus devices. According to embedded HTML code found on the Android N Preview page that might be changing soon. 

According to Reddit user FUNExtreme who made the discovery, the snippet below can be spotted in it, below the “What’s New” heading, is the suggestion that the Android N Developer Preview might be coming to “more supported devices, including devices from OEM partners”.

Nokia Lumia Icon Now Supports Insider Preview Builds Of Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul announced recently that the company will be bringing support for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview builds to the Nokia Lumia Icon. If you own a Nokia Lumia Icon, you will be glad to know that you can now try out Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview on your device using the Windows Insider app (link below). You will only be able to get builds from the development branch which means you will need to install the Redstone builds and can not install the Threshold 2 builds which are slightly more stable compared to the Redstone builds.

To get Windows 10 Mobile on your Lumia Icon, simply sign up for the Windows Insider program (link below), download the Windows Insider app (link below) on your Nokia Lumia Icon, enroll into the Insider Fast or Slow Ring, after your phone reboots check for updates to download Windows 10 Mobile.

Google Keyboard Gets Updated (APK Download Link)

Google Keyboard is getting a few much needed improvements, in my opinion.

Here’s a changelog:

• Option to show key border, no more holo themes
• One handed mode
• Long press for hinted symbols can be toggled
• Adjustable keyboard height in settings
• New first time user set-up screen
• Opt-in and a setting for sharing snippets with Google to improve the keyboard for everyone
• Long-press and drag to remove suggestions from suggestion bar
• Dynamic floating preview removed (preview in suggestion bar now)
• Delete whole words by sliding left from delete key
• Gesture cursor control by sliding left/right on space bar
• Faster access to the number pad and emoji

There’s a one handed mode for larger devices, new gestures (sliding left from the delete key deletes entire words, control the cursor by sliding on the space bar), there’s a new theme option for button borders, and a lot more.

One of the bigger feature additions allows you to delete recommended words by long pressing the suggestion and dragging it into a new floating trash bin. 

The update is rolling out in stages. Head to the Google Play Store link below to check for the update and if you don’t see it, well you'll just have to sit tight. Please note, Google Keyboard 5.0 WILL NOT work with Android N Preview Beta we'll be sure to update you when Android N Preview Beta is supported.
