Samsung Is Now Selling Its $2,899 Galaxy Z TriFold In The US...

The wait is over!!! Samsung foldable fans in the US have a new ultra-premium option. The Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung’s first dual-hinged phone-tablet hybrid, is officially on sale in the US. You can buy it from Samsung Experience Stores or directly from Samsung’s online shop. The price is simple and steep: $2,899, which is $900 more than the single-hinged Galaxy Z Fold 7.

 

There are no choices to make, either. The Galaxy Z TriFold comes in one configuration only — 512GB of storage, finished in Crafted Black. No variants, no upsells. There’s also no pre-order phase. Samsung announced US availability just days ago, allowed fans to sign up for updates, and then skipped straight to retail. The TriFold goes on sale today, first come, first served, with no official word on how many units are headed to the US.

 

That matters, because the phone has already sold out multiple times in Korea. Samsung is manufacturing it in limited quantities, as it's reportedly losing money on each unit sold. If you’re a US foldable enthusiast and you actually want one, waiting might not be the smartest move. As for why Samsung is selling a phone it’s reportedly losing money on, the answer is simple. The Galaxy Z TriFold isn’t about margins. It’s a technical flex, designed to underline Samsung’s foldable leadership and put a spotlight on the foldable Galaxy portfolio.

Google Starts Rolling Out Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1.1

 

Google has started rolling out a new Android 16 QPR3 beta update for Pixel devices, and while it does not introduce any new features, it does bring in an important fix for an issue that could affect everyday usage.

The update, labeled Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1.1, is now rolling out to supported Pixel phones as a minor follow-up to the first Android 16 QPR3 beta released earlier this month. This update focuses primarily on stability rather than adding new functionality.

As per the official changelog, Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1.1 fixes an issue that caused some apps to crash immediately on startup (Issue #470144317, Issue #470214834). Google lists this as a change addressing problems where certain apps would fail to launch correctly.
The new build bumps the version number to CP11.251114.007, up from CP11.251114.006, and comes in at roughly 58 MB in size. It is available for a wide range of Pixel devices, starting from the Pixel 6 series and extending all the way up to the latest Pixel 10 lineup. If your device is already enrolled in the Android Beta Program, the update should arrive as an OTA download.

The first Android 16 QPR3 beta introduced a handful of notable changes. One of the biggest additions was the option to disable the At a Glance widget from the home screen, something Pixel users have been asking for years. Google also added the ability to swap the back and recent buttons when using three-button navigation.

Another standout change introduced with QPR3 Beta 1 was improved flashlight controls. Instead of a simple on-or-off toggle, the system now lets you adjust the brightness level of the flashlight, similar to iPhones.

If you want to try out the latest Android 16 beta, make sure your Pixel is enrolled in the Android Beta Program. OTA updates have already started rolling out, but if it has not appeared on your device yet, you can sideload the update or flash the factory image manually. Alternatively, if you prefer waiting it out, the stable release of Android 16 QPR3 is expected to arrive sometime in Q1 2026.

Google Gemini Now Works Across Multiple Apps

 

Google’s AI assistant Gemini is now able to carry out tasks across multiple apps in a single interaction, in an update announced today alongside the launch of Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 series. Those phones are also Samsung’s first to feature Gemini as the default on-device assistant, relegating Bixby to the app drawer. Those changes are part of a raft of other updates from Google including improvements to the AI-powered Circle to Search.

With the recent update, Gemini is able to carry out more complex multimodal tasks. You might ask it to find a dog-friendly Italian restaurant and send it to your friend, or pull up your NFL team’s upcoming games and add them to your calendar, all in a single prompt.

TikTok Ban Gets Trump Sign Off (APK Download)

President Trump has signed an executive order granting TikTok a 75-day extension to comply with a law that requires a sale or ban of the platform. He says during that time, the US will not enforce the law passed by Congress last year and signed by former President Joe Biden.
The order was among a slew of directives Trump signed on Monday evening. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, he said: "I'll tell you what. Every rich person has called me about TikTok."

When asked by a reporter why he's had a change of heart since trying to ban TikTok in 2020, Trump responded: "Because I got to use it." President Trump said the possibility of a joint venture running the company, saying he was seeking a 50-50 partnership between "the United States" and its Chinese owner ByteDance. But he did not give any further details on how that might work.

On Saturday evening, the Chinese-owned app stopped working for American users, as a law banning it on national security grounds was set to come into effect. It resumed services to its 170 million users in the US after Trump said he would issue an executive order to give the app a reprieve when he took office.

But on Monday it was still not available to download from the Apple and Google app stores. The Biden administration had argued that TikTok could be used by China as a tool for spying and political manipulation. Opponents of a ban have cited freedom of speech as a reason for keeping the platform open. TikTok's parent company, ByteDance previously ignored a law requiring it to sell its US operations to avoid a ban.

The law was upheld by Supreme Court on Friday and went into effect on Sunday, but the Biden White House said it would leave implementing the law to the incoming administration given the timing.President Trump had backed a ban of the platform during his first term in office. The newly signed executive order places him at odds with many members of Congress from his own party.

On Sunday in a post on X, Republican Senator Tom Cotton said any company that "hosts, distributes, services or otherwise facilitates communist-controlled TikTok" could face hundreds of billions of dollars in fines.

Cotton said liability could stem not just from the Department of Justice, "but also under securities law, shareholder lawsuits, and state AGs [attorneys general]. Think about it". TikTok chief executive Shou Zi Chew attended Trump's inauguration on Monday along with other bosses of big technology firms, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos.

Earlier on Monday, YouTube star MrBeast posted a TikTok video of him apparently from a private jet on his way to make an official offer to buy the short video platform. The post gave no other details about the offer, only that it would be "crazy".

Other companies, billionaires and celebrities have expressed interest in buying TikTok, including former Trump Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and an investor from the TV show Shark Tank, Kevin O'Leary.

DirecTV And Dish Network In Merger Talks, Again...

Dish Network could be in some financial trouble, as its deadline to cover 70% of the US with 5G comes up next month. The company is expected to meet that deadline, however, the company is going to need to spend billions more to cover 75% of America by 2025. And that’s billions that Dish Network does not have right now.

That brings us to Dish Network and DirecTV's potentially merging. The two have been posturing and position around a merger publicly for a few years. They are the two largest satellite TV providers in the US, and with cord cutting accelerating, a merger is likely inevitable. But now, the talks have stalled, reportedly.

Both of these satellite TV companies have their own Streaming TV service. With Dish Network having Sling TV, and DirecTV having DirecTV Stream and DirecTV via Internet, which are basically the same service. Clearly both companies know that streaming is the future, and it would make sense for the two of them to finally merge.

This would be a similar merger to Sirius and XM satellite radio merging 14 years ago, to form SiriusXM. If Dish Network and DirecTV did merge, they could end up being a viable competitor to AT&T. With DirecTV’s satellite and streaming TV service, and Dish’s services along with its internet business.

Now the other big question is, even if they do come to an agreement, would the regulators allow this deal to go through? Since they are the only satellite TV providers in the market right now, there’s likely going to be some pushback. Then again, satellite TV is dying, and this merger would be more about Internet and streaming TV, so it could be allowed to happen.

We’ll likely see a lot more about this potential deal in the coming weeks, especially if this while thing is one side trying to pressure the other into meeting their demands.

Meet Motorola’s New Razr Device, The Moto Razr+

 

After all the leaks and rumors of the past month or so, Motorola has taken it upon itself to confirm that its new Razr 40 range of foldable smartphones will be unveiled on June 1. It’s believed that Motorola will announce a pair of foldable phones at the launch event which will apparently “Flip the Script. June 1".

Evan Blass, known by his handle @evleaks, today published a batch of images showing off the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra (aka the Moto Razr+) from every angle in three colors black, blue, and the magenta/red.

Android 14 2.1 Public Beta, Now Available

 

Google has released the first public beta version of Android 14. Previous beta versions were intended only for developers. This version of Android 14 only includes a handful of minor changes visible to users, compared to Android 13. 

One is a smarter share-sheet, with new, faster options to share content with other people and devices. The "back" gesture has also been tweaked with a new visual interface. Most other changes are "behind the scenes" changes for developers. Google sometimes keeps new Android features hidden until it can announce them at an event like its annual I/O conference. Users wishing to try out Android 14 Beta 1 (on a non-critical device) can now enroll a recent Pixel phone in the beta program to access the software.

T-Mobile Buys Ryan Reynolds' Mint Mobile In a $1.35 Billion Deal

Mint Mobile, the wireless firm that counts Reynolds as a part owner, has been acquired by wireless giant T-Mobile in a deal that could value the startup firm at $1.35 billion. T-Mobile will pay the deal in 39 percent cash and 61 percent stock.

It is not immediately clear how much Reynolds will personally see from the deal, though he is said to own between 20-25 percent of Mint Mobile, implying a low nine-figure payday.

“Mint Mobile is the best deal in wireless and today’s news only enhances our ability to deliver for our customers,” Reynolds said in a statement Wednesday. “We are so happy T-Mobile beat out an aggressive last-minute bid from my mom Tammy Reynolds as we believe the excellence of their 5G network will provide a better strategic fit than my mom’s slightly-above-average mahjong skills. I am so proud of the entire Mint team and so excited for what’s to come.”

In addition to Mint, T-Mobile is also acquiring Ultra Mobile, which is geared toward providing international calling options to customers, as well as Plum, a wireless wholesaler. All three companies were owned by Ka’ena Corp, and founders David Glickman and Rizwan Kassim will run the company as its own business unit.

Under the terms of the deal, Reynolds will continue to work in his creative role for Mint. The actor has long appeared in commercials for the wireless brand, featuring his distinctive sense of humor.

In a statement, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said that he hopes to bring that formula to the larger company.

“Over the long-term, we’ll also benefit from applying the marketing formula Mint has become famous for across more parts of T-Mobile,” he said. “We think customers are really going to win with a more competitive and expansive Mint and Ultra.”

Reynolds is no stranger to the business world outside of acting. In 2020 he sold his Aviation Gin brand to Diageo in a deal worth $600 million.

Nothing Ear (1) True Wireless Earbuds Are Official, The First Product From Carl Pei

Nothing, a new brand from OnePlus founder Carl Pei, has today officially launched the Nothing Ear (1) true wireless earbuds after months of anticipation.

Nothing Ear (1) features an in ear design, Active Noise Cancelation, Bluetooth 5.2, IPX4 water resistance, and a charging case with Qi compatible wireless charging and a USB-C port. Fast pairing is supported on Android devices only.

ANC uses three microphones on each earbud and can be set to maximum for loud environments, light for quieter environments, and there is also a transparency mode for hearing the sound around you. During calls, the microphones are used to cancel out background noise.

The Nothing Ear (1) earbuds offer 5.7 hours of battery life with ANC turned off, and 34 hours of battery life when used with the charging case, four hours for the buds and 24 hours with the case with ANC switched on.

Each earbud can be controlled with tap and gesture controls, which can be customized with the accompanying app, and also features EQ controls and Find my Earbud functions.

Android 12 Beta 3.1 Update Is Here, Bug Fixes In Tow

Google has just released a bug fixing update for the recent Android 12 Beta 3 release. The new version Android Beta 3.1 addresses a number of undefined stability issues while also fixing a few more specific problems that adventurous users and developers may have run into, including bootloops and memory trouble. The update started rolling out via OTA and is available via direct download (view the download link below).

Android 11 Developer Preview 4 Goes Live...

Today we get Android 11 Developer Preview Four... Previously, Google said there would only be three Android 11 Developer Preview releases but Google is making a few changes to the Android 11 release schedule, and that includes this unexpected additional developer preview. The next beta release has been moved to June 3rd, where it will be dropped as part of a new Beta Launch Show online event details for which Google published earlier today. All of the following betas on the original schedule have also been pushed back a month.

Google says that this new timeline is the result of challenges posed to developers as a result of current events. The extra month will give them more time before Android 11's changes reach the "platform stability" milestone, and an extra month for developers to get Android 11 apps ready for testing (developers should note: SDK and APIs for Android 11 are still set to be finalized in June).

Google Rolling Out Wireless Stadia Support

Google announced that wireless Stadia Controller support is rolling out to the web this week. This means that gamers playing on laptops and desktops no longer need to connect via USB.

Starting this week, you can now use the Stadia Controller to play wirelessly on your laptop and desktop. You no longer need to connect your Stadia Controller physically to your computer to play your favorite games. You’ll be able to link your Stadia Controller and Stadia.com through your Wi-Fi network and play without a USB-C cable connection.

As of this morning’s Stadia announcement, wireless Controller support on the web is not yet rolled out with a “coming soon” message still appearing. Once available, turn on your device and visit Stadia to open the Controller menu in the top right corner. A linking code that you need to enter on your Controller will appear.

Android 11 Beta Arrives, June 3rd

 

Android 11 Developer Preview program showed that we would get several previews before a public beta release some time in May. Google has now revealed that the first Android 11 Beta will arrive in June with a special online presentation.

This is the replacement for Google I/O, which was canceled due to coronavirus. The new event is called “The Beta Launch Show” and will take place on June 3 at 8AM Pacific (11AM Eastern).

Motorola Rejoins The Flagship Game Meet, The Motorola Edge+

Motorola is back in 2020 with the Motorola Edge+, a phone whose specs and price put it right next to Samsung in a battle for the top. With limited availability watching as Motorola tries to get their new phone in front of your eyeballs should be interesting.

The Motorola Edge+ is a $1,000 phone coming exclusively to Verizon in the US. It features a 6.7″ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 865 processor, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.0 storage, 5000mAh battery with fast wired (18W) and wireless (15W) charging, triple rear camera setup on the back, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.1, and Android 10.

The triple rear camera is made-up of 108MP main (binning to 27MP, f1.8, OIS), 16MP ultra-wide (f2.2, 117-degree FOV), and 8MP telephoto (f2.4, OIS) lenses. It can shoot up to 6K and 4K video at 30fps, as well as slow motion 1080p at 120fps. The front camera is a 25MP shooter.

This phone will be big on connectivity, with access to Verizon’s 5G mmW. When Verizon expand beyond mmW, the phone is sub-6GHz 5G ready and has WiFi 6 support for faster WiFi.

Android 11 Developer Preview 3 Now Available

Google has released Android 11 Developer Preview 3 to supported Pixel devices, including the Google Pixel 2/2 XL, Google Pixel 3/3 XL, Google Pixel 3a/3a XL, and Google Pixel 4/4 XL. We still not to the beta stage, so you won’t just be able to easily enroll in this preview like you have been able to in the past. 

This should be the last preview build before the Android 11 beta in May.

Google says this update contains “bug fixes and a set of productivity improvements,” we are assuming this is the final preview before going into beta and opens up a wider audience. Flash if you dare...

Samsung Shows Off Samsung Galaxy Z Flip During Oscars Commercial

Samsung is just a few days from its 2020 Unpacked event, and tonight during the Oscars we got an unexpected “spoiler.” 

Samsung officially confirmed the design and features of its unannounced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip in a brief ad during the Oscars. Without actually naming the device, an ad for Samsung shows off the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip in depth and teases the Unpacked event on February 11th.

Byte, Is The New Vine

The Byte app is now available to everyone, both iOS and Android. Byte is a social network based on short video clips, with comment features similar to Instagram, and a "rebyte" feature similar to retweets on Twitter. 

Byte was founded by Dom Hofmann one of the original creators of Vine and is similar to Vine in many ways. (Vine was purchased by Twitter, and shut down 2016.) The Byte app includes a search/explore section that lets you explore content by category, such as animation, pets, fitness, music, comedy, travel, and experimental, as well as latest and most popular content. 

The camera section lets you string together multiple short clips at once, recorded from either the front or back camera, and/or include sections of previously-recorded video. An onion-skinning feature helps you visually align the start of a new clip with the last frame of the last clip.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Arrives August 7

The unveiling date has been set for Samsung’s upcoming Note 10 device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Samsung intends to announce the device on August 7 at 4PM Eastern in Brooklyn, NY. 

The invite, which teases new camera capabilities, shows the S Pen circling around a camera sensor and the link to the UNPACKED invite says that the launch will "take the Galaxy's connected ecosystem to the next level".
