HTC Announces First Wave of Handsets to Receive Ice Cream Sandwich Upgrade

If you’re an Android fan this is an exciting time for you. But if you’re an Android fan that happens to own a slightly new handset this might be an exciting/nerve racking time for you. What’s all the fuss about? Well Ice Cream Sandwich of course and the question is, will your phone be getting Google’s latest dessert flavored operating system update? If your current smartphone is made by HTC, we may now have an answer to your burning question. The highly successful smartphone maker has taken to Facebook to announce their first wave of smartphones that are set to receive a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich goodness. There’s a list of multiple carrier devices here, but of course we only care about the Sprint ones. We’ll go ahead and say that it appears that you EVO 4G and EVO Shift 4G owners have been snubbed. The only two devices listed thus far are the EVO 3D and recently released EVO Design 4G. HTC does go on to say that they’re continuing to assess their product portfolio and asks that you “stay tuned” for more updates on device upgrades. Hopefully this means that we’ll get something a little more concrete in regards to timing, or perhaps even a new device announcement.
