RIM has said many times that the PlayBook OS was a stepping stone used for development of BlackBerry 10. It was an obvious guess that we’d eventually see the polished BlackBerry 10 OS reach the PlayBook tablets. This way the BlackBerry ecosystem will be balanced across both tablet and phone.
Rob Orr, RIM’s VP of product management, tells TechRadar, ”We’ve said publicly a number of times that our first BB10 handset will be available towards the end of 2012, and that’s still firmly the case. At some point after the launch we’ll bring BB10 to our PlayBooks, yes.”

BlackBerry 10 will be RIM’s largest step in attempting to make BlackBerry regain marketshare. The new OS will have deep TAT Cascade integration and widgets. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to one day see a BlackBerry OS that is multifaceted among multiple devices.
