Google Spills The Jelly Bean At Googleplex

We knew it from the beginning that Google will launch the next version of Android OS at the Google I/O 2012, but we still didn't know the final name of it. Though Google cleared the air today when they spilled some huge jelly beans in their front lawn, literally. And it's right in front of all the other Android statues,  Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and now it's time for some delicious Jelly Bean.

Hopefully, Google will rock the show this year by launching their first ever branded tablet, and also it will be the first tablet to feature Android Jelly Bean. This year Google I/O will come with so much surprises, so stay tuned with us and we will keep you up to date with every move.

HTC Will Not Update Tablet Line To Android 4.0

Those of you who picked up an HTC EVO View 4G (Sprint) or HTC Jetstream (AT&T)  tablet over the last few months.  These two, along with the HTC Flyer, will not be seeing an official Android 4.0 update from the manufacturer.  Considering we've not run into more than a couple folks who actually own one of these three we suspect that this doesn't affect too many of you.  Nevertheless, you'll have to go with some rooting and modding if you want to load Ice Cream Sandwich on your device.

Although HTC won't bring Android 4.0 to the trio, it's not to say they won't keep supporting them with updates.  Should you have one of these tablets, you'll find your Honeycomb experience may get better with time.

Upgrades are not the same thing as ongoing support. Devices not being upgraded to Android 4.0 will still get software improvements, security fixes, and technical support as needed.

ZTE Optik B09 Software Update Outed By Sprint

It's been announced that a new update has begun making its way to the 7-inch tablet. The update is version B09 (build number V55V1.1.0B09) and brings a handful of tweaks related to Google Music, SIM City and other aspects of the Optik. Sprint lists the B09's release date as April 16th, so you Optik owners that have yet to taste it can head into Settings > About tablet > System updates > Update Android > Check now to manually look for the update.

LG Unveils The Optimus Pad LTE

As LTE is exapanding rapidly, perhaps more rapidly then some would have thought - it's up to manfacturers to go ahead and exapand their device line-ups to include LTE-capable devices as well. LG is fully aware of this and their latest announcement introduces the first LTE-capable tablet from them into the market - the LG Optimus Pad LTE.

“With tablets generating five times more traffic than the average smartphone, it’s not a huge jump to assume that tablet users need and want faster connectivity,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “The combination of LG’s LTE technology with the tablet form factor is a clear advantage for consumers who use a tablet as their primary consumption device when on the move.”

The LG Optimus Pad LTE will be launching in Korea intially and moving out from there. It will come equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor running Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, a 1280 x 720 True HD IPS display and 8 megapixel camera for shooting HD video. Plus, HDMI and DLNA support are on board as well as SD Card support for up to 32GB of additional storage.
