Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update Live For Verizon's Galaxy Nexus

Verizon's Galaxy Nexus is lagging behind its purebred brethren in the update department. But the delays are getting shorter and, as the carrier's just confirmed, users should begin to see Android 4.2.2 rolling out to their handsets as early as today.

Initially released back in February, this Jelly Bean update brings with it the ability to snap 360-degree photospheres, various camera UI improvements, lock screen widgets, and a Swype-like Gesture keyboard. It's set to be released gradually, the OTA update notification takes a few days to make itself known.

How To Enable USB Debugging Mode On Android 4.2 Jelly Bean And Higher

USB debugging mode is really intended only for developers and people who don’t know what they are doing may accidentally enable it and put their device at risk. This is why starting in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Google has hidden the ability to enable USB debugging mode. If you want to know how to enable USB debugging mode in Android 4.2 and higher, this guide will show you exactly how to do that.

To see the option for USB debugging mode in Android 4.2 or higher, do the following:

Open up your device’s “Settings”. This can be done by pressing the Menu button while on your home screen and tapping “System settings”

Now scroll to the bottom and tap “About phone” or “About tablet”.

At the “About” screen, scroll to the bottom and tap on “Build number” seven times.

Make sure you tap seven times. If you see a “You are now a developer!” message pop up, then you know you have done it correctly.

Done! By tapping on “Build number” seven times, you have unlocked USB debugging mode on Android 4.2 and higher.

You can now enable/disable it whenever you desire by going to “Settings” -> “Developer Options” -> “Debugging” ->” USB debugging”.

Google Now, Google's Android 4.1 Siri Competitor

In my eyes, one of, if not the single best feature announced by Google yesterday during the day one I/O keynote was the introduction of Google Now. Google’s new card-based system will personalize your life, learn your habits, searches, today’s weather needs, anticipate your traffic concerns, guess your local transit direction needs and so much more.
Google’s official landing page for their Now service is now live and you can head on over to get the complete rundown on the service. Google Now is easily one of the standout features in Jelly Bean and we can only hope we all get a chance to test it out soon. Please be sure to leave your comments, and let us know what you think.

Google Makes The Nexus 7 Tablet Official

Google has officially taken the wraps off of the Nexus 7, its first reference-grade tablet. The 7-inch slate is the first and currently only device shipping with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and takes advantage of its optimization for smaller tablet screens, magazines and movies it's also the first to ship with a finished Chrome for Android. Like what was widely suspected, the tablet is built by ASUS and mostly draws our attention in terms of what we get for the money: that quad-core Tegra 3, 1.2-megapixel front camera, NFC and 1280 x 800, IPS-based LCD are traits we'd normally look for in a pricier tablet. Google is asking just $199 for a 8GB model and $249 for a 16GB version that's a lot of speed for the money, especially with a $25 Google Play credit and a slew of bundled content. There's no SD card slot, however.

Google Spills The Jelly Bean At Googleplex

We knew it from the beginning that Google will launch the next version of Android OS at the Google I/O 2012, but we still didn't know the final name of it. Though Google cleared the air today when they spilled some huge jelly beans in their front lawn, literally. And it's right in front of all the other Android statues,  Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and now it's time for some delicious Jelly Bean.
Hopefully, Google will rock the show this year by launching their first ever branded tablet, and also it will be the first tablet to feature Android Jelly Bean. This year Google I/O will come with so much surprises, so stay tuned with us and we will keep you up to date with every move.
And don't forget to share your thoughts about Jelly Bean in the comment below.
